My Recipe of a Mouthwatering Vegan Burrito

Mexican foods can be much more than just mouth-watering foods. Mexican recipes can move you to positivity, excite you for weekend night, and make you more beautiful and energetic. The best thing is that you can do a number of experiments with Mexican foods, especially Burritos. You can add cheese, stuff burritos with mayonnaise or even eat them with well-blended veggie dip.

This recipe of mouth-watering vegan burrito is nothing less than heaven in mouth. This recipe is actually a result of countless experiments – some of the recipes didn’t turn out really well. But after all that effort and spending, I finally had a recipe I could pat my back for. Here is how I made the best vegan burrito recipe. Ingredients

  • 3 finely chopped zucchinis
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • ½ finely chopped red onion
  • ½ small jalapeno, pitted and chopped
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 cans of black beans (drain and rinse well)
  • 10 ounce freshly chopped spinach (thawed and squeezed to dry)
  • 4 burrito size flour tortilla
  • ½ cup guacamole
  • 2 cups shredded pepper back or cheddar cheese

Preparation

  • Put a few drops of olive oil in frying pan for sautéing the vegetables.
  • Put onions, zucchini, spinach, garlic and jalapeno in the frying pan and sauté the vegetables. Make the vegerables are cut well using the best kitchen knives set.
  • In a separate pan, pour 1 cup distilled water and 1 few drops of olive oil. Put black beans, boil the soup and simmer until the beans become very soft. Mash them into small chunks with the help of a fork.
  • Spread wraps in a tray and spread guacamole on wraps.
  • Add spices and herbs to frying pan with vegetables and mix well.
  • Put beans from the second pan to frying pan with vegetables and mix all ingredients with each other.
  • Scoop out the frying pan mixture on tortilla wraps and put ½ cup shredded cheese on it. Wrap immediately.
  • Cut the wraps in halves and secure with a toothpick.
  • Serve hot.

This recipe of Vegan Burrito is full of proteins and essential vitamins. You can also use coconut water instead of distilled water. For extra Mexican punch, serve with coconut and mint drink or pina colada.

My Experience of a Yoga Spa Vacation

For wellness vacations, what else could be a better retreat than yoga spa vacation?

I heard my aunt talking about yoga vacation, but like many other people, my concept of vacation was also to ‘go and relax’. I always thought that stretching my legs and arms and bending my back backwards is no way to go on vacation, but the idea did sound intriguing so I gave it a try.

How Yoga Spas are Different?

Yoga spas and retreats are different from simple yoga workshops in a variety of ways. I have learned from my experience that yoga spa is a combination of yoga massages, yoga environment, yoga food and yoga workouts. As you must have guessed by now, it is a complete yoga routine.

I had different options to choose from including coastal yoga retreat, resort yoga vacation, mountain yoga, in-house yoga, poolside yoga, yoga adventure, and island yoga. These all differ in terms of location and environment only but choosing one was definitely difficult as all of them are very appealing. Yoga adventure is quite different from others as the yogis practice very difficult poses at tough surfaces, like the deck of a ship while at sea. I am only a beginner, so I went with the seemingly easier option: resort yoga vacation. So here we were, packed our yoga gears like good yoga mats, yoga pants and other accessories on a flight.

We, the team of five yogis, used to start our day early in the morning around 5:00 AM with breathing exercises in the resort’s lobby. Our yoga was a combination of detox drinks, yoga massages and light yoga exercises with no restrictions. Do as much or as less as you want!

With fresh breezes forming whirlpools around us, we used to work on accumulated toxins in our bodies with beetroot and orange juice. After breakfast, Susan used to lead our 6 yoga sessions of 15 minutes each, with a five-minute break after every session. Next, the relaxing shoulder, neck and leg massage was my favorite.

After a short nap in the noon, we started our evenings with a specialty detox drink. Let me explain specialty here. Every day had a detox fruit theme. Apart from the morning detox drink, we used to eat and drink only the themed detox fruit throughout the day. Evening drink was followed with five to seven yoga sessions, 15 minutes each. We used to end the day with detox dinner and five-minute yoga massage.

The Results

  • My childhood sleep is back. I have never slept better in my entire life.
  • I have lost 8 pounds in just 2-week vacation and I am planning another vacation soon to complete my beach body.
  • My skin glows and my energy skyrockets every day. I am rope-skipping 1000 times a day; the dream has finally been achieved.
  • I am performing way better at my workplace and never lose interest or concentration even while playing with my kids at the park.
  • I take things positively. My anger and passivism have reduced and I make at least one new friend every day. Simply, I have started loving myself and all of humanity.

Suggestion

You may only relax in a ‘go and relax’ vacation but you will completely transform after a yoga spa vacation. If you are worried about the relaxation factor, then take my word for it, you will definitely get a lifetime of relaxation after a yoga spa vacation.

Home condition affecting my health? Should I improve it

So over the past few months (yes few months!!) I have been suffering from a serious condition of cold and cough. Have been to the doctor multiple times and finally they were able to diagnose the my condition to be caused by the condition of my home. Cosmetic improvements are going to make my home fancier whereas energy-efficient improvements would help with the bills and they may constitute to increase the standard of my living. There were many improvements that I was able to do on my own using many of the power tools that I have including a power saw, power screw driver and a good power drill set. But my goal is to increase the condition of my health.

When remodeling, most people choose one option from wooden flooring or wall-to-wall carpeting. I am going to get rid of all my carpets and instead install a wood floor as carpets absorb more dust particles than floors. My children under the age of 10 tend to inhale small dust particles 5 times more than adults. In contrast, wooden floors can be simply wiped up with antibacterial floor cleaners or phenols to kill germs and remove toxins.

Pollutants, toxins and small airborne elements can trigger diseases or aggravate health problems like asthma. I have cracks in the walls and floor, leaks in the pipes and air spaces in the windows, which I am sealing them to greatly reduce entry of pollutants into your home. Another way is to install energy-efficient windows to keep the critters out of my home.

Upgraded HVAC systems are more energy-efficient with higher efficiency to filter the air and remove air pollutants and allergens. Indoor air quality can also be improved by keeping more plants in home. For example, Dwarf date Palm filters Formaldehydes from the air and can be used to clean the air after paint or fumigation. English Ivy cleanses Benzene, Formaldehyde, Trichloroethylene, Xylene and Toluene according to a study conducted by NASA.

VOCs are not only dangerous for asthma patients but they also leave dangerous effects on respiratory system of children like nasal congestion. Eczema and many other skin diseases are also caused by VOCs. Old paints contain VOCs in them but modern ones also come in the variety of low VOC and VOC-free quality. These may be a little expensive but definitely not more expensive than my health.

Moisturized rooms contain higher concentration of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide in the air. Improving air quality of the room also includes installing dehumidifiers or exhaust fans wherever possible. Modern exhaust fans and dehumidifiers also contain timer and sensors to indicate the need of removing moisture from air or turning them off.

Also make sure to regularly clean the home in order to remove clutter and molds. Remove plywood and composite wood furniture and invest in hard wood to reduce the quantity of formaldehydes.
