The Good News is truly FOR you.  Another word for the Good News is the “Gospel.”  Thus, the Gospel is FOR you.  Paul defines the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, which says, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”    This simple passage reveals that Jesus Christ was the long awaited Messiah, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day.  The Gospel is not just a historical event, but also an eternity-changing truth.  The love that Jesus demonstrated to human kind on the cross demands a life-response that leaves no room for neutrality.

The World tells us that salvation can be achieved through works, religion, pleasure, contentment, tolerance, and many other false avenues.  The TRUTH of the Gospel tells us that salvation can only be obtained through GRACE through FAITH in JESUS.  Scripture explains that we (human beings) are inherently evil and cannot save ourselves.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).  Sin is the ultimate separator between God (Holy) and human beings (Sinful).  Jesus died in our place so that we can be reconciled to God and righteous in His eyes.  Jesus was ultimately our substitute in bearing the wrath of God for sin.  The gift of salvation is free, but can only be obtained through Jesus.

            ·
We must repent of our sin
(turning away from our sin and turning to God through Jesus)
                      -“Repent therefore, and turn again, that you sins may be blotted out.”
Acts 3:19

·          We must place our faith and trust in Jesus
     -“For by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing;
    it is the gift of
God.” Ephesians 2:8

·          We must ask the Lord to save us
     -Simply pray in your own words to God that you know that you have sinned, need forgiveness from God, and that you desire to turn away from your sins. Also pray that you know that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died on the cross for your sins, and that he was raised from the dead.

-“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

-“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
       Romans 10:9

If you have prayed and asked the Lord to save you, your life has been changed for eternity.  Death and hell no longer have a claim on your soul, but you now belong to Jesus.  When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God gives us the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit seals our salvation and allows us to desire the things of the Lord.  After becoming a Christian, you should:
